(Dan Tri) – The first electric car model brought to Vietnam by Volkswagen can compete with VinFast VF 8 in terms of size, but the selling price is likely to be higher than Vietnamese products.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, a representative of Volkswagen Vietnam said that the company plans to introduce many new products after the MPV Viloran model.

Similar to Viloran, Teramont X and ID.6X are products of a joint venture between Volkswagen and SAIC (China).

Volkswagen ID.6X

In China, SAIC-Volkswagen’s pure electric vehicle (ID) line includes ID.3, ID.4 and ID.6X.

Volkswagen ID.6X is developed on the MEB chassis platform.

Looking at the size, ID.6X will compete with VinFast VF 8 when it returns to Vietnam, but the selling price may be slightly higher than the Vietnamese model, because the German car company positions the brand at a `close to luxury` level.

Technical specifications of the Volkswagen ID.6X for the Vietnamese market have not been revealed, but it is possible that the car’s equipment will be complete to increase competitiveness.

It can be expected that the car will have an IQ matrix headlight system.

In China, Volkswagen ID.6X is distributed in 4 versions.

In particular, the electric motor on the standard version produces a maximum capacity of 132kW (about 179 horsepower) and maximum torque of 310Nm.

On the most advanced version, the car uses 2 electric motors: 80kW (108 horsepower)/162Nm and 150kW (204 horsepower)/310Nm.

The gear shift knob has a rather strange design, but practical experience shows that the position is still easy to operate (Photo: Nguyen Lam).

The battery pack on the Volkswagen ID.6X is a ternary lithium-ion type with a capacity of 58kWh or 77kWH depending on the version, providing maximum operating capacity on a single charge ranging from 460-617km.

The entertainment screen is 14 inches in size, comes with 12 Harman Kardon speakers (Photo: Nguyen Lam).

The vehicle’s safety equipment highlights the active safety system, including features such as collision warning with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, driver distraction warning, and transition assist.

Experts say that the Volkswagen ID.6X will not be cheap when it returns to Vietnam, most likely starting from 1.5 billion VND.

The third row of seats has relatively spacious space but the sitting feeling is not very comfortable because the seats are placed close to the floor of the car (Photo: Nguyen Lam).

The issue of charging the battery will be a big question mark.

If it does not build its own charging station system, it is possible that Volkswagen Vietnam will install fast charging stations at the dealership system, similar to the way Mercedes-Benz or Porsche do.

Volkswagen Teramont X

Volkswagen Teramont X is a hybrid SUV Coupe version of the Teramont model sold in Vietnam.

Similar to Viloran, Volkswagen Teramont X is also assembled at the Ningbo factory (China) (Photo: Nguyen Lam).

Unlike the regular Teramont, the Volkswagen Teramont X has a sportier appearance with a thicker horizontal body.

Depending on the version, Volkswagen Teramont X will be equipped with 18-21 inch alloy wheels (Photo: Nguyen Lam).

The taillight cluster also has a different design from the regular Teramont, connected together and even the company logo glows (Photo: Nguyen Lam).
